Real Speaking is a three-day, semi-private coaching experience which began as "Keynote Camp" in 1991.  It is designed to rediscover your authentic voice, ignite your personal passion, and provide the confidence and competence to express fully the power of who you are and what you know.  

Real Speaking is not your ordinary speaking workshop. Too often speech coaching is a formulized attempt to impose technique over where you currently stand in your speaking - and those techniques can distance you from your inherent capacity to communicate in a powerful and original way.   The Real Speaking process goes deeper to explore what holds fire and meaning for you and discover and appreciate your individual communications style. It moves you quickly to your "home zone" - the place of your authentic voice and life experience - where your power as a speaker emerges. Whether your goal is a dynamic keynote speech or a dramatic shift in your ability to communicate one-on-one, Real Speaking provides targeted and no-nonsense support for the breakthrough you want to achieve.

A group of no more than six participants gathers in a private location for three days and undertakes a voyage of discovery, where you will discover and deliver the speech you were born to give:

• Identify and develop your core message, the foundation for any presentation you make
  
• Discover and appreciate your individual communications style and build on your natural strengths
  
• Learn dynamic principles that create and sustain success in public speaking and face-to-face communication
  
• Experience deeper levels of authentic expression

Real Speaking is designed as a small group experience because  creative leaps of insight or understanding occur that likely would not happen any other way. A group of "important strangers"  working together provides a web of mutual support and synergy  that cannot be duplicated in one-on-one coaching. At Real Speaking, you are assured of a supportive learning community that allows you to be deeply seen and heard. The diversity of goals, experience  and perspectives in the group allow teaching and learning to happen in unpredictable ways as you receive valuable insight about your gifts and talents. Mutual respect, fun, and and celebration are hallmarks of the experience, and life-long friendships are often an unexpected bonus!

What to Expect
You do not need to come with a prepared speech. In fact, it's best if you don't. Through ongoing video feedback, you'll watch yourself evolve as you explore  new territory in your self-expression.  

Initially, the coaching is designed to support you in expressing more of who you are so that your natural strengths become apparent. Each participant will receive personal coaching five or six times during the course of the program, leading up to a final 20-minute prepared presentation on the final day.  

Experiencing this shift and witnessing it in others fuels your own capacity to take greater risks, supported by group and partner exercises and essential presentation tools. Over the course of the program, you identify the heart of your message, which becomes the foundation of your presentation and market position. You'll leave Real Speaking with a new perspective and a new program!
