Speaking and Workshops
Gail Larsen is an accomplished speaker and workshop leader who supports her audiences in navigating life's journey of growth and change with joy and insight. Combining practical information, humor, and stimulating perspective, Gail recognizes the unique character of each audience and adapts her presentations accordingly. Drawing from a rich repertoire of knowledge, stories, expertise, poetry and indigenous wisdom, her work is informed by her work with Real Speaking since 1991 and three years as founding partner of the JourneyWell Center for Integrative Health.  (JourneyWell was an exploratory venture that resulted in a practical curriculum to support people in making empowered choices for their health and wellbeing. )

Following are representative topics for keynotes and workshops. Each program is especially designed to accommodate your program schedule and to assure results.

Be Yourself.  Everyone Else is Taken!
What would it be like to line up like a bar code with the people you are meant to do business with - or those who are ready to enroll in the change you want to initiate?  While much of our training and socialization teaches us how to fit in, building an outstanding brand or getting our message across requires that we stand out so that people can “read” whether what we represent is a match for them.

"Be Yourself" is designed to inspire you to trust what is original about you and what you offer – and then to give voice to that to differentiate yourself and attract those who connect with who you really are.

"Unequivocally and enthusiastically positive and glowing responses.  The following are representative descriptors of your style: authentic, humorous, charming, grounded, intelligent and graceful.  We were impressed by your ability to seamlessly intertwine quotes, poems and personal anecdotes to deliver an impactful and moving presentation."
Phyllis Wolf, The Association for Women in Communications

Story Power:
The No-Fail Strategy for Being Heard
Connecting to another person or to an audience is the the key to being heard, but first you must be connected to your own story to be able to share it in a heartfelt way.  Whether you tell that story one on one or through public speaking, it is the vehicle for building trust, differentiating yourself from your competition, and attracting clients who connect with you who are. This is the foundation for a thriving business.

In this session, you will:
Learn why your own story is the primary way to connect with others to be heard
Identify the story that sets you apart from others
Receive pointers on telling your story with clarity, conviction, and confidence.
Renew your capacity to build your business with just the right clients for you

"In a short period of time, Gail was able to help our participants access their real stories and give them the power to communicate those stories with depth, confidence and meaning. I was impressed with Gail's natural ability to make people feel at ease and the unique talent she has creating a safe space for exploration and expression.  I can't wait to work with her again." Pamela Chaloult, Co-Executive Director, Social Venture Network

"ICF engaged Gail to help coaches understand how to use their speaking skills to communicate their business to increase their client load.  Not only did she help those in the group who are already speakers, she modeled joy in being oneself, providing hope to those who have typically avoided speaking because of fear and 'performance' anxiety.  She received rave reviews on all of our evaluation forms." Adele Fuller, International Coaches Federation

Courageous Conversations
Your Truth Well Spoken
The plain truth . . . the honest truth . . . the unvarnished truth . . . the absolute truth . . . the gospel truth . . . the straight truth . . . the truth of the matter . . . the whole truth and nothing but the truth . . . Why would these phrases be so prevalent if truth were just . . . well, truth?

As leaders, we set the standard for “courageous conversations” – conversations that are well timed, essential, and require that we go beneath surface expectations and communications to get to the heart of the matter. When there is a lag between what needs to be said and a courageous conversation, performance suffers and relationships deteriorate. This is true whether at work or at home.

In this session, you will:
Identify conversations that are keeping your from your desired results
Build on your communication strengths
Learn to share information so it can be heard, while maintaining high levels of respect
Understand the energetic drain of “the elephant in the room” so you’ll get ideas and feelings out in the open
Build strong relationships that support breakthrough results

"The feedback for Courageous Conversations was overwhelmingly positive.  One participant said she realized the greatest potential within herself in your workshop." Deborah Nelson, SVN Gathering of Women Entrepreneurs, Monterey, CA

"Thank you for your role in making our inaugural event a huge success. Your informative and professional presentation received high marks (3.58 out of 4.0!) and will positively impact our member schools in the months and years ahead." Sue Mackie, Champions Club, U.S. Swim School Association

"Your closing address had just the right tone for our audience, due in no small part to your extensive efforts to get to know them.  You personalized the message very well, and your humor was great.  You really lifted our spirits!"

Midlife as an Art Form: Restoring Magic to the Journey
Hang on to your midlife survival vest as Gail's alter ego Madame Ovary® demonstrates the many accoutrements that assure a feisty and fearless midlife passage. Moving from mirth to message, she offers valuable guidance and perspective for restoring magic and meaning to the second half of life.  See "Personality" feature.

"In addition to bringing inspiring perspective and wisdom to overall cycles of change, Madame Ovary brings humor to hormones. Women, and the men who love them, struggle with this important stage in life. Gail Larsen makes it safe for us to talk openly and laugh freely about these issues."
Alicia Goldberg, Business & Communications Strategist, Traditional Medicinals

"An outstanding kickoff event with a message for men and women alike:  Enjoy life, live it to the fullest, keep your perspective, and be yourself.  You brought in both life and new business."
Alan Austin, President, New Mexico Bank & Trust

"As a man hearing Madame Ovary for the first time, I sat in the back row ready to make a quick escape.  Not only did I laugh heartily, I learned a lot about how to deal with loss and grief.  Thank you!  This was the best event I've attended here at The Crossings."
Audience member, Austin, Texas

Gail is also a trained group facilitator and skillful conference weaver, making the connective links between activities to assure a coherent experience for attendees who are often going in different directions. Closing keynotes and ceremonies are her specialty, where she provides an opportunity for reflection, integration, celebration and commitment.
