FROM AUTHOR TO SPEAKER: Public Speaking Made Easy for Writers
with Gail Larsen and Peggy Taylor
Fall 2008 ~ Date TBD - Seattle, WA
Writing a book requires one set of skills, talking about it quite another. When it is time to speak about your work, your market success is directly related to your capacity to crystallize your message and bring it alive for others.
From Author to Speaker is designed to support you in finding ease with an audience, then expanding to what Gail Larsen calls your “home zone,” the place of your authentic voice and life experience where your power as a speaker emerges.
This lively day-long training is designed to transform your experience of speaking from enduring it to actually having fun. You’ll explore ways to step beyond stage fright and bring your authentic voice forward. You’ll learn the key elements of an unforgettable book event and how to tell the story of your creative endeavor. And you’ll practice three vital speaking skills that will build your confidence in winning the attention of agents, the media, and the book-buying public.
